Full Job Description – Junior Estimator

POSITION: Junior
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Director of Preconstruction

Job Summary:
The Junior Estimator plays a key role in Structor Group’s preconstruction team, assisting in the preparation of accurate cost estimates and proposals for commercial construction projects. This position involves analyzing project plans, evaluating materials and labor costs, soliciting bids from subcontractors, and collaborating with project managers and senior estimators to ensure competitive and precise budgeting. The Junior Estimator will contribute to the overall success of Structor Group by supporting the company’s mission, vision, and values while delivering exceptional service to clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.


Job Responsibilities:

Preconstruction & Estimating Support:

  • Maintain and update the Bid Board and preconstruction schedule.
  • Assist in the initial estimate setup, including pulling project documents and preparing preliminary data in Building Connected.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure the timely completion of preconstruction deliverables.


Estimating & Cost Analysis:

  • Assist in soliciting, reviewing, and evaluating subcontractor bids.
  • Conduct scope take-offs and basic quantity analysis.
  • Assist in bid leveling and cost comparisons.
  • Prepare estimate clarifications, allowances, and exclusions under the supervision of a senior estimator.
  • Support the team in understanding general conditions costs and project fee percentages.


Communication & Coordination:

  • Maintain strong communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
  • Attend project meetings and collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate estimates.
  • Learn and contribute to project scheduling efforts.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 0-3 years of experience in construction estimating, preconstruction, or a related role preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge and entry level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, Teams) required.

Job Summary:
The Senior Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates at different stages of project development, managing bid processes, and working closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal project teams. This role requires deep industry knowledge, strong analytical skills, and leadership in preconstruction efforts and cost management.


Job Responsibilities:

Estimating & Cost Analysis:

  • Develop comprehensive cost estimates from conceptual design through final construction pricing.
  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and ensure accurate pricing for labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Analyze bid proposals, subcontractor quotes, and market conditions to determine the most competitive and accurate pricing strategies.
  • Negotiate pricing and contractual terms with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive bidding.
  • Lead estimate reviews and value engineering efforts to optimize project costs.


Preconstruction Management:

  • Assist in project feasibility studies, budgeting, and financial planning.
  • Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, project specifications, and requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers and design teams to assess constructability, risks, and schedule impacts.
  • Maintain and update estimating databases and historical cost data.


Communication & Leadership:

This role involves proactive risk assessment, training, and continuous improvement initiatives to uphold workplace safety standards. The Safety Manager will collaborate closely with project managers, site supervisors, and employees to promote a strong culture of safety and compliance with regulatory requirements. This position supports Structor Group’s overall mission, vision, and values by fostering a safe and productive workplace for all employees.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Create and update comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and guidelines for commercial construction projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to ensure effective implementation of safety programs.
  • Conduct regular reviews and updates to safety programs to reflect changes in regulations or industry best practices.
  • Plan and deliver safety training programs for employees and contractors, including topics such as hazard recognition, fall protection, electrical safety, and equipment/tool operation and procedures.

Job Summary:
The Accounting Assistant is an integral member of Structor’s accounting and finance department, responsible for providing excellent customer service to the accounting department, employees, clients and vendors. The Accounting Assistant will support the overall mission, vision and values of Structor.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Process and review pay applications submitted by subcontractors and suppliers to verify accuracy and compliance with contractual terms and project specifications.
  • Collaborate with project managers to gather necessary documentation and supporting details for pay applications, including progress reports, invoices, and lien waivers.
  • Maintain organized records of pay applications, invoices, change orders, and other relevant financial documents.
  • Prepare pay application packages for submission to clients, ensuring completeness and accuracy of all required documentation.
  • Coordinate with internal and external parties to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to pay applications in a timely manner.
  • Generate reports and updates on pay application status, budget vs. actual costs, and project financial performance as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports, including reconciliation of pay application amounts with project budgets and forecasts.
  • Stay informed about industry regulations, best practices, and emerging trends related to pay applications and construction accounting.
  • Provide support during audits and compliance reviews by compiling requested documentation and responding to inquiries from auditors.


Minimum Qualifications:
