Project
Emory Oxford – Humanities Hall
Details
8,500 SF | Renovation
Humanities Hall is a two-story, stucco-clad masonry building built in 1874. Structor Group undertook a comprehensive renovation that demolished the interior, mostly to the structure, and portions of the exterior.
Interior scope created faculty offices, a 50-seat tiered Film Studies/General classroom, a 25-seat seat classroom with adjacent storage room for film production equipment and one 20-seat seminar classroom, to also serve as a conference room for faculty use.
The project included the addition of an elevator to make the entire building accessible, new restrooms to meet the occupants load requirements, new HVAC systems (connection to an existing chilled water and hot water loop), new electrical system with high efficiency lighting fixtures and controls, envelope improvements to reduce energy usage/improve occupant comfort, replacement of the windows and replacement of part of the roof.
