20,000 SF | Build-out

Structor Group has built many components of the museum and assisted with the installation of multiple art exhibits. The first project involved the renovation of the lobby of a Midtown high-rise to create the new Perkins+Will designed museum. The initial build-out included exhibition space, new restrooms, offices, classrooms, with a high- tech audio-visual system in all areas. The space was certified LEED Gold within a LEED Platinum building. In 2018, Structor Group worked with MODA during the installation of the Designing Playful Cities exhibition to customize, build, and install Delirious Frites, a pool noodle installation, in the museum’s hall gallery. In collaboration with exhibition designer, Structor Group produced custom wall mounts with holes to hold hundreds of pool noodles. Vibrant pink and orange pool noodles were inserted into the mounts, which were then hung on the museum’s walls.

Structor Group has also built-out the gift shop area and assisted with the installation of the Wire & Wood: Designing Iconic Guitars exhibit.

Since that very first project, Structor Group has been closely aligned with the museum’s mission. Our staff serves on the museum’s leadership team and we frequently make contributions to support the museums programming.
